Immerse yourself in a free, family-friendly, authentic storytelling experience as young and old are invited to re-connect with their storytelling roots at Fable Family Festival<\/a><\/strong> on Sunday, 16 November at 11am<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fable celebrates the power of storytelling, inspiring the next generation of seancha\u00ed by re-imagining the traditional storytelling experience in ambitious and imaginative ways that engage young and curious audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us for a magical day of storytelling, workshops, and creative activities for children. Families can enjoy fireside stories, songs, and tall tales with actor, singer, and storyteller Wren Dennehy<\/strong> and friends, where children can sing along to the tale of Molly Malone and watch the P\u00faca come to life in word and song. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our seancha\u00eds will bring colourful myths reimagined for modern ears, including the specially commissioned story by children\u2019s writer Dave Rudden<\/strong>, The Salmon of Knowledge<\/em>, which celebrates wisdom, curiosity, perseverance, and the joy of sharing knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children can also join Animal Story Time Yoga<\/strong>, where they move and play like their favourite animal friends, imagining fantastic creatures and bringing their stories to life on the mat in a supportive and inclusive environment. In What\u2019s Your Tall Tale, children will work with a storyteller to reconnect with Ireland\u2019s rich storytelling tradition, creating their own tall tales through imagery and words. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theatre and improv workshops with Dublin City Libraries\u2019 Storyteller in Residence Aisling Breen<\/strong> invites kids to become storytellers themselves, using drama games, movement, and playful improvisation to develop characters, scenes, and adventures on stage. Finally, children can celebrate heroes through art with acclaimed artist Kiki Na Art<\/strong>, designing and creating artworks inspired by mythic legends or real-life heroes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bFable on Film<\/strong> will feature Seanchai recordings of mythic stories which families can visit throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bChildren can dive into creativity at Arts & Crafts: Create Your Own Salmon of Knowledge<\/strong>, where they craft their own Salmon of Knowledge using recycled materials, paint, and imagination, celebrating wisdom, curiosity, and the joy of discovery through art. Alongside this, the Spellcasting Stand<\/strong> offers a magical space where storytelling and play are combined as a tool for well-being, encouraging imagination and mindfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who can\u2019t attend in person, the Fable Podcast <\/strong>offers accessible portals to ancient Ireland, featuring the 2025 unique adaptation of the Salmon of Knowledge, alongside classics from previous festivals, including renowned seancha\u00ed Eddie Lenihan<\/strong> sharing stories of the “other folk,” alongside modern myths read by singer Jerry Fish<\/strong> and actress Mary Murray.\u200b\u200b<\/strong>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
